kids party games, free party game ideas and party games for kids theme parties

To ensure your child's birthday party runs smoothly it's important to make sure you are well planned. Always plan more kids party games then you think you will need or have time to play. Some kids party games will be more popular then others so by having several games prepared it will allow you to switch to a new party game if one doesn't seem to be going so well.

It's a good idea to stick to party games that the kids will already know or will be easy to learn. It can be difficult to keep the attention of a large group of children who are all very excited so try and keep the party games simple. Start the party games with ones that are less active to warm the children up and help them to get to know everyone. Also, make sure you consider your party space. Will you be indoors or outdoors for the party games? Be prepared for the weather to change and have a back up of party games in mind.

The first thing you need to do is choose your child's birthday party theme. By selecting a theme that your child loves makes it not only easy to co ordinate your kids party tableware, but planning your party food and kids party games will also be easier.

Traditional kids party games can be changed so they work with your child's party theme. For example... Duck, Duck Goose can be changed to Cannonball, Cannonball, Pop for a pirate party or Princess, Princess, Knight for a princess themed party.

We've collected our favourite kids party games for you with examples on how you can change them to match your child's party theme.

Remember...

* Select appropriate games to suit the children's ages and the space you have available to play them. Make sure you have enough kids party games prepared to last the length of the party.

* Be flexible. Things don't always go to plan so be prepared to move on to another game if one is not working. Depending on the weather, you may also need to move the kids party games inside.

* Be prepared. Have a list of party games you can play and have all party game props set up and ready to go before the party starts. Make sure any adult helpers know all the rules to play the party games you have chosen.

* Have fun!!!
